Create a series of VRay materials that are specific to your Sukkah model. Apply the materials and textures to your model. Visit the Point Bonita site and document the site's textures and conditions. Create a series of 3D objects to complement the given site model. You might choose to break the site into smaller or differentiated surfaces to assign different materials to the complex ecology of the site; you can add multiple geometry layers to overlay multiple textures.
Finally start thinking about how your Sukkah is going to fit in the site. Start thinking about a connection between your pavilion and the site. You can place your Sukkah anywhere on the site model, but you should think about three types of connections: Above the Site, On the Site or In the Site.

Evaluation Criteria
|
-
High Pass
-
Material describes the intentions and concept behind the Sukkah. Object mapping and material scale is appropriate. Site model represents the wide range of textures and complex ecologies of the site. Site / Sukkah strategy is present.
-
Pass
-
Material describes the intentions behind the Sukkah. Object mapping and material scale are off in some geometries or areas. Site model represents some site textures. Site / Sukkah strategy is present.
-
Low Pass
-
Materials exist, but don't necessarily represent the concept behind the Sukkah. Object mapping and material scale are off. Site model poorly represents site textures. Site / Sukkah strategy is present.
-
Fail
-
Some materials exist, but don't represent the concept behind the Sukkah. No object mapping exists, distorting the renderings. Site materials and model poorly represent site textures.

Your Assignment Submission will consist of:
-
3D Model of Sukkah with textures applied
-
3D Model of Site with textures applied
-
2 simple simple VRay renderings of your Sukkah and 2 simple renderings of the site showing the Materials and Textures you developed.
-
The 3D Model of the site and the Sukkah combined. This should only show a simple site strategy: decide where to place your pavilion, and move it above, on, or in the site. No further modification of the site or Sukkah is required this week.
Submit JPG images of the renderings and either a single Rhino file of all the models combined, or individual Rhino files.
Upload the files to the box.com folder: Assignments/02, and make a folder with your name to place your files
