In this problem set, students are tasked with editing and manipulating an axonometric of Villa Savoye with proper line weights while also integrating images with transforming commands and clipping masks.

Illustration has line weights, and the drawing clearly visualizes space and mass. The given grass texture is visually corrected and sheared, then properly projected using a clipping mask, with minor errors.
Low Pass
Illustration has no line weights, and the drawing is unclear. Dashed strokes are not used for connecting corresponding parts of the axonometric and the given plan has been unaltered. The given grass texture is not visually corrected or sheared, and no clipping mask has been used.
Fail
No illustration or no presence of manipulation of the given assets.

Exploded Axons in Illustrator & Photoshop

Instructions

In this problem set, students are given a set of files that must become a single axonometric image. The files include: an Illustrator file of an exploded axonometric drawing of Villa Savoye; an image of the second floor plan drawing of the building; and an image of a grass texture. Using these assets, student's must compile them in such a way that the axonometric reads clearly as a diagram, with proper line weights, and manipulates the second floor plan image and the grass texture so that it reads as a part of the axonometric. The grass texture must also be color corrected so that it properly represents green grass and clipped in such a way that it is only apparent as the ground plane and not the building or the concrete pad that immediately surrounds the building. Finally, students must add dashed projection lines at the left and right corners of the building to insinuate the exploded nature of the drawing.

Hint: Think of your work in terms of what each program (Illustrator and Photoshop) can do for you. Time manage well - give yourself an allotted amount of time to do line work in Illustrator then an allotted amount of time to work in photoshop.

Submission

Students will upload a PDF document to the course Box account in the Problem Set 2 Submissions_20120920 folder, found here . The PDF must include the entire exploded axonometric with the given assets included and manipulated properly.
