Digitally Post-Processing Hand Rendered Textures

Approaching rendering through a selection of hybrid techniques, each student will hand draw a texture from his or her case study model to render in V-ray and/or Photoshop. Each texture should be carefully drawn to scale for the particular moments in the house that it will be applied, scanned at high resolution, edited in Photoshop, and texture mapped onto the appropriate surfaces.

  • Understanding How to Apply Material in V-Ray and/or Photoshop
  • Ability to Work between Programs to Create Rendering

High Pass
Interior and exterior renderings have material texture(s) applied. Texture is mapped well and represented correctly.
Pass
Interior and exterior renderings have material texture(s) applied. Texture mapping and representation has some issues.
Low Pass
Interior and exterior renderings have few to no material texture(s) applied. Mapping and representation is incorrect or not present.
Fail
no submission

Each texture should be carefully drawn to scale for the particular moments in the house that it will be applied, scanned at high resolution, edited in Photosop, and texture mapped onto the appropriate surfaces.


DELIVERABLES
Scans of hand drawings used for texture(s) with Photoshop effects applied (One .psd file)
2 Exterior Renderings with Material Applied (One .psd file for each rendering, and One 11"x17" .pdf file including both images)
2 Interior Renderings with Material Applied (One .psd file for each rendering, and One 11"x17" .pdf file including both images)

Please upload your photoshop (.psd) and (.pdf) files to bcourses, and bring 11"x17" prints of your .pdf files to class on Friday, July 31st.

Name your files according to this convention: lastname_firstname_section01 or section02
